The faral orders that held a family together

BBC Marathi met Savita Parge in Pune, who was married as a child and carried a household's responsibilities at a young age; for the past seven years, Diwali faral orders have helped support her home. Across Maharashtra, women in home kitchens fry chakli, fold karanji and cut shankarpali through the festive weeks, and that work is the faral in this box.

Questions

FAQ

How does ordering by location work?

Tell us where your teams are. For each location you pick a style: that state's Special box (say, Maharashtra Special: Diwali Faral) or our Classic Indian box. You can mix them, for example your Pune team on Maharashtra Special and your Delhi team on Classic Indian. Both styles cost the same at each tier.

What if a team isn't in one of the ten states?

They get the Classic Indian box at the same tier, built on the same Paanch Din story. Mixed or spread-out teams can take Classic for everyone.

What's the last date to order for Diwali?

Order by 4 Nov for delivery by 7 Nov, ahead of Dhanteras and Lakshmi Puja (8 Nov). After that we send Bhai Dooj and post-Diwali thank-you boxes.

Do sweets travel across states?

Fresh sweets are made locally and travel only within their freshness window. Only non-perishables are shipped across states, so nothing arrives stale.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes. 5% off on 50+ boxes and 10% off on 200+ boxes. Prices are per box, ex-GST.

Can we add our logo or a message?

Every box has a story card. Tell us what you'd like on it, and the Signature tier includes a personalised name card for each person.

Who makes the food inside?

The sweets and snacks are bought close to Diwali from makers in the towns they're famous for, made by hand the traditional way. Each location's page tells the story of where its food comes from. We only name a specific shop, family or group as a partner once they've agreed to be featured.

Is the ViralNext feature really free?

Yes. Every company that orders gets the Diwali feature on Trends of India and Observing India and an Out Loud People interview slot, at no extra cost. You share your journey, we write and post it.
